Installation instructions are printed on the wrapping of each and every roll of wallcovering. The main difference between installing non-woven and paper-backed wallcovering is that in the former's case, the adhesive can be applied to the wall since non-woven is a dimensionally stable product, whereas paper-backed wallcoverings are not stable. So the adhesive has to be applied to the wallcovering and allowed to sit for a while (the time is noted on the instructions) . This time period is known as booking; during the booking time, the paper either expands or shrinks, or both, and then stabilizes for installation.
